“I honestly don’t know if I trust mental health services to support my child.” – Parent
If you’re a parent, you might know this feeling all too well. You see your child struggling, you reach out for help, and instead of support, you’re met with long waitlists, confusing processes, and a system that feels impossible to navigate. It’s exhausting. It’s frustrating. And, most of all, it’s heartbreaking.
Mental health services are meant to help families in their toughest moments. But our research shows a painful reality: only 13% of parents and carers whcih we spoke to trust the system to support their child. That means nearly nine out of ten families feel let down.
💬 “It's very unclear what the routes to support are if your child is struggling, particularly if they don't meet the CAMHS threshold” – Parent
When parents lose trust, children lose out. And when children lose out, their struggles deepen—until they reach a crisis point. That’s not just unfair; it’s unacceptable.
Beyond trust, the biggest hurdle parents face is access. In our insight report, 83% of parents and carers said it’s NOT easy to get the right mental health support.
That means families are left waiting, searching, and fighting for help that should be readily available. And in the meantime? Their children continue to struggle.
🧑⚖️ No parent should have to fight this hard to get help for their child.
Mental health services shouldn’t feel like a dead-end road. Parents shouldn’t feel ignored.
At Orli, we’re working to change the system so that every child gets the help they need—without endless waiting, without uncertainty, and without families feeling like they have to scream just to be heard.
🎯 Getting help shouldn’t be this hard. We’re here to fix it.
We know this isn’t an easy fix. But no system works without trust. And we’re ready to rebuild it—together.
